DIN 909 Specification

Hexagon Head Pipe Plug

DIN 909 Scope

DIN 909 Specification specifies the requirements for screw plugs for closing holes cylindrical internal thread according to DIN 158-1, DIN 3858, DIN EN ISO 228-1 and DIN ISO 261.
NOTE 1: Depending on the medium, pressure, temperature and material combination, there is no guarantee of tightness. Therefore, depending on the intended use, a suitable sealant is used. This is especially true for Sealing of holes with internal threads according to DIN ISO 261.
NOTE 2: Screw plugs for gas and drinking water installations are in DVGW G 600 and in the technical rules for drinking water installations TRWI according to DIN 1988-200 specified.
NOTE 3: Locking screws according to this standard are not designed for tensile and compressive loads.
